THE WORLD'S FIRST ZERO-EMISSIONS SAILBOAT AT VENDÉE GLOBE

A non-stop, solo round-the-world race to prove that renewable energy is the best fuel for the toughest race on the planet

ACCIONA has created the world's first-ever zero-emissions sailboat and it meets the standards of the world's most extreme yachting event, the Vendée Globe 2012, a lone, non-stop, round-the-world race.

Right from the word go, the vessel was designed with sustainability firmly in mind and it is ready to take on all challengers…but without using single drop of fossil fuel.

Two years of work and R&D later, and thanks to the efforts of a 70-member multidisciplinary team, we've arrived at a reliable power source, based on solar, wind and water power, and we've fine-tuned the craft's hydrodynamics with cutting-edge materials and design.
