RENEWABLE DISTRIBUTED GENERATION
ACCIONA offers distributed generation solutions to maximise generation based on renewable energy, lower electricity costs and reduce fossil fuel consumption, thus redesigning the energy framework so as to allow humanity to tackle the climate crisis.
The company develops standard micro-network solutions, created to meet the needs of residential, commercial and industrial clients, both connected to and disconnected from the power grid.
SELF-SUPPLY AND MICRO-GRIDS
Two renewable energy projects exemplify the importance of micro-networks for the electrical system. In 2018, ACCIONA designed a fuel-saving photovoltaic project in Rapa Nui (Chile), the most remote inhabited island on the planet. The power generated by the Tama Te Ra’a photovoltaic plant, donated to the island, saves 200 litres of fossil fuel a day and prevents the direct emission of 135 tonnes of CO2 per year, generating around 8% of the electricity demand.
In addition, through its participation in energy programmes designed by the Mexican government, ACCIONA was selected in 2017 to design, install and maintain photovoltaic systems to provide renewable electricity to 720 homes in three Mexican states using micro-networks.
The company is exploring new solutions to manage future distributed generation models: microgrids and virtual power plants, the electric vehicle, a second life for batteries and network stability and management services.
We design solutions in distributed generation of renewable energy to support the capacity of a decarbonized energy model.
